Overview
When the word “safari” is uttered, the image that comes to mind is the traditional aura of comfort in the wilderness, of huge open plains filled with every manner of wild beast, and it’s a must for anyone interested in birdwatching and wildlife viewing. This is a fast-paced tour where you can witness 300+ bird species as well as 40+ mammals. The grandeur and diversity are astonishing, so we’ve put together a 10-day Kenya wildlife & Bird Watching itinerary that focuses on both birds and wildlife, and includes some of Kenya’s top sights. The journey covers visits to Lak’ Naivasha and Lake Nakuru National Park, where you will see a variety of gorgeous birds and creatures. To top it off, we will go boating on Lake Naivasha and then drive to Masai Mara National Park. And for the next few days, we’ll be going on exhilarating morning and evening game drives.

Day 1
Arrival at Nairobi
On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our airport representative, who will transfer you to your. hotel.
East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city, Nairobi is Kenya’s beating heart, an exciting, maddening concrete jungle that jarringly counterpoints the untrammeled natural beauty to be found elsewhere in the country.
Day 2
Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Check-out in the morning post breakfast and drive down to Amboseli
Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.
Check into your accommodation. The lodge will be strategically located from Amboseli National Park main gate (Kimana Gate) and will give a panoramic view of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest free standing mountain.
Have lunch and leave for your afternoon game drive. Come back by sunset and rest for the night at the camp.
Day 3
Amboseli National Park
Spend the day in Amboseli with morning and evening game drives.
In between the game drives you can take optional activities like a visit to the Maasai village to experience the culture of the locals.
All meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4
Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha
Check-out early in the morning, after hearty breakfast and drive down to Lake Naivasha.
This would be a long drive and the lunch would be en-route.
Reach Lake Naivasha and check in to your accommodation.
Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. These forests abound with bird life, and Naivasha is known as a world class birding destination. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores.
Rest for the afternoon and in the evening do boating at Lake Naivasha to see the hippos and plethora of birds like pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants, goliath heron, jacana, great white egret, white fronted bee-eater, saddle- billed stork et al.
Day 5
Excursion to Lake Nakuru National Park
Post breakfast go for your game drive in Lake Nakuru with picnic lunch. Here you will get to see the black and white rhinos, the waterbucks, the Rothschild giraffe, the pelicans, flamingos et al.
On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives.
Come back to Lake Naivasha by the evening to relax at the hotel.
Day 6
Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Park
Early morning, post breakfast drive down to Masai Mara en-route stopping at the Rift Valley.
proceed further and enter the national park. The camp is inside the park and your game drive will start post you enter the park. Reach your camp/resort/lodge, check in and post lunch we will head for the game drive, which will last till sunset.
You will return to the lodge later for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – 9
Masai Mara National Park
Three full days in the Mara with morning, mid-morning and evening game drives.
You can also experience the hot air balloon and visit to the Masai village experience if interested. We will be organizing for bush breakfast and lunch on one of these days.
Day 10
Masai Mara National Park to Nairobi/Departure
Have breakfast at leisure. Later, drive back to Nairobi Airport for your onward flight back to home or to the next destination with pleasant memories of Kenya.
