    8 Days Exploring Big Fives of Tanzania

    Overview

    An 8-day tour for an independent-minded traveller who are keen to experience as much as possible. The itinerary takes in the classic wildlife destinations of Tanzania’s wildlife circuit.

     

    Tarangire National Park is first, most famous for its concentrations of wildlife at the Tarangire River during the mid-year dry season and a rewarding destination throughout the year. Serengeti where you are on the lookout for migrating wildebeest herds in season and their predators. A full-day safari on the flat floor of the Ngorongoro Crater provides more opportunities to spot the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) and perhaps flamingos and hippos in the Crater wetlands.

     

    Travelling between destinations by 4X4 vehicle for part of the way enjoying the Rift Valley scenery. The vehicle has been designed to make photography as easy as possible: large windows and a pop-up roof, and everyone gets a window seat. The accommodation includes elegant tented camps with fabulous views.

    • Travel to Tarangire National Park, known for its huge herds of elephants and giraffe
    • Game drives in Serengeti National Park, with Africa’s highest concentration of wildlife
    • In the Serengeti, linger at the Simba Kopje, inspiration for scenes in The Lion King
    • At the Olduvai Gorge Museum view fossils that provide evidence of our ancestors
    • Visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a World Heritage Site, Africa’s “Garden of Eden”

    Day 1
    Arrival – Arusha

    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will warmly be met by our representative and transfer you to your place of stay in Arusha for dinner and an overnight.

    Day 2
    Game viewing in Tarangire National Park

    After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is the third largest national park in Tanzania and best known for its largest herds of elephants and one of the most remaining ancient trees in the world with full of amazing stories, the gigantic Baobab Trees!

    Proceed for your afternoon game viewing to observe a diversity of wildlife with Tarangire River that allows animals to play and relax around.

    Later drive back to you hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Tarangire.

    Day 3
    Tarangire – Lake Manyara

    With picnic lunch, drive to Lake Manyara National Park.

    Lake Manyara NP is a lovely scenic park that offers another unique experience of a Tanzania Safari! The park is also famous for its elephants; huge number of baboons and due to its varied landscape, the park has an impressive range of other game.

    Bird – Watching here is amazing, especially of raptors, a paradise of its own!

    Overnight at Lake Manyara.

    Day 4
    Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater

    After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro for lunch, and an afternoon game viewing in the famous Crater of Ngorongoro.

    Ngorongoro Crater is such a unique safari destination. With a large concentration of animals and short grasslands, game viewing in the crater is excellent as animals are everywhere!

    enjoy the game drive and later proceed to your accommodation in Ngorongoro.

    Day 5
    Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park

    After an early breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park enjoying game drive enroute.

    Unequalled in its natural beauty and undoubtedly the most famous game park in the world.

    The first game drive explores the lush Seronera Valley, renowned for its lion and leopard populations, as well as a variety of other wildlife. At dusk, return to the campsite.

    Day 6
    Serengeti National Park

    Enjoy morning and afternoon game drive exploring the Seronera and central Serengeti area.

    Overnight will be at Serengeti.

    Day 7
    Serengeti National Park

    The early morning game drive takes you again into the protected Serengeti. The breathtaking savannahs are a stunning backdrop to a diverse and abundant wildlife population throughout the entire year. On your return to the camp, a leisurely lunch and time to relax before setting out on the afternoon game drive.

    Overnight at Serengeti.

    Day 8
    Serengeti National Park – Arusha/Departure

    Today we transfer you to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha to connect with your International flight back home or to the next destination.
